Environmental  Health

Within Community Integrity, the Environmental Health Division oversees those aspects of the natural and built environment, within the Town of Little Elm, that may affect human health. They protect public health by monitoring food safety in restaurants, daycares, grocery stores schools and at public events. Responsibilities of the Environmental Health division include:

  • Food Protection Program and Permits
  • Food establishment inspections, including schools and daycares
  • Food establishment plan reviews and approvals to ensure Health Code compliance
  • Prevention and investigation of foodborne illnesses
  • Food safety education
  • On-site septic plan reviews and permit approvals
  • Monitor on-site septic systems to ensure compliance with State of Texas regulations
  • Commercial and Public pool plan reviews and approvals
  • Commercial and Public pool inspections
  • West Nile virus surveillance
