Honor Guard
About Honor Guard
  • The Little Elm Police Honor Guard was created in November 2005. Its primary purpose is that of providing representation from the Police Department at funeral services for sworn peace officers who lost their lives in the performance of their duties.
  • The Honor Guard is also available for ceremonies honoring officers during National Police Week, in May each year, as well as official greetings of dignitaries and similar functions.
  • When attendance at a funeral is not possible due to distance or other factors, the Honor Guard Commander sends a letter of condolence on behalf of the Department to the Law Enforcement Agency suffering the loss.
  • The LEPD Honor Guard continues to increase in membership as many officers feel it is a privilege to serve in this capacity.
