The Little Elm Police Department Patrol Division is the largest and most visible aspect of the department. The Division is responsible for the preliminary investigation of calls for service and crime, as well as answering general calls for service.

The Patrol Division provides continuous coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working 12-hour shifts for the purpose of efficient and effective manpower allocations.

The Town of Little Elm is divided into two basic patrol districts, east and west. The dividing line between them is at the intersection of Eldorado Parkway and Preston on the Lake.

Patrol Officers
The patrol officer is generally the first, and sometimes the only, contact citizens have with a police department. For this reason, patrol officers are highly trained, receiving in-service instruction on a continuous basis which develops skills needed to provide the best service possible.

Four Sergeants, who report to the Assistant Chief of Police, head the Patrol Division, which also includes three Corporals and 12 patrol officers.
