As a result of a recent ordinance change, all non-owner occupied residences, Single Family Rental Units, Multi-Family Rental Buildings (Apartments or Townhouses), Manufactured Rental Units or Mobile Rental Units, must be registered with the Town and have a valid Residential Rental Permit before they may be occupied. If you live in or are moving to one of these types of residence, it must be registered and have a permit issued before you can have your water turned on. The registration and permit procedure must be completed by the home owner or their agent. You are no longer required to have a “Safety Inspection”.
If the property you need water, sewer and trash service for is a foreclosure, you will no longer have to arrange for a “Safety Inspection”. However, you are now required to have an Electrical Meter Release Inspection prior to having the electricity turned on.
Please contact the Building Safety Division before applying for your water, sewer and trash account.
