Responsibilities


The Finance Department is responsible for efficiently managing and accounting for the Town’s financial and human resources through the utilization of information technology for provision of financial reporting services, operational and capital budgeting support, and other complex administrative assistance.

Services


The Finance Department provides support to Town departments and citizens through oversight of Municipal Court and Utility Office; purchasing, accounting, financial reporting, debt administration, treasury, and budget. The department serves as Treasurer to the Community Development Corporation as well as several Public Improvement Districts (PID's) and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ).


Chief Financial Officer


Karla Stovall, the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for accounting, budget, investments, and treasury reports. She oversees Finance, Utility Billing, and Municipal Court.

Awards


The Town of Little Elm has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the seventh consecutive year. The award is given to local governments that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.
